It's been awhile since we've given an update on the chickens! Our chickens are now 14 weeks old. Over the last several weeks, we discovered that 3 of the 8 chickens were roosters. Typically, it is recommended that you have 8 hens to 1 rooster. The rooster to hen ratio was not ideal so we decided to process our own roosters. Last year we took a chicken processing class that helped prepare us for this situation. Watch this video to learn more! Elaina also shares some feedback on the coop after using it for 2 months. We've made some minor changes since then so you'll definitely want to check it out!

ABOUT US: We are Alex and Elaina, a couple in our 20s who are currently living on the 3-acre farm in southern Pennsylvania where Alex grew up.
