Global National: Feb. 11, 2022 | Ambassador Bridge blockade protesters defiant as injunction granted

Police could soon move in and end the Canada-U.S. border blockade in Windsor Ont, after a court injunction was granted to remove protesters from the vital Ambassador Bridge crossing. But as Sean O'Shea reports, demonstrators remain set on staying put despite the new legal orders. Meanwhile, despite Ontario Premier Doug Ford declaring a state of emergency to end the blockades, disruptive protesters continue to fill downtown Ottawa for a third weekend in a row. They're not backing down and continue to demand an end to COVID-19 mandates, but as Abigail Bimman reports, the consequences for their actions could soon escalate. There is also still no resolution in sight for the nearly two-week Alberta border blockade against COVID mandates. Now there are warnings the prolonged disruption of the vital Canada-U.S. border crossing could soon deal a major blow on the provincial economy. Heather Yourex-West looks at how Alberta's agriculture and energy sectors are hurting, as protesters remain defiant. Questions are also rising over whether a better security response could have averted all the disruption sooner. Eric Sorensen looks at the evolution and complications of securing the capital, and how authorities can prevent the convoy crisis from happening again. Plus, the Canadian Armed Forces is now investigating Maj. Stephen Chledowski, after the active army officer released a new video denouncing COVID-19 measures. Ross Lord reports on how Chledowski also admits to violating military vaccine protocols, and why his message could be part of an alarming recruitment effort by far-right extremists. To the crisis over Ukraine - Canada has joined the U.S. and other allies in urging their citizens to leave Ukraine immediately, as top security officials now warn Russian forces are in position to invade at any moment. Jackson Proskow explains what the increasingly likely invasion could look like, how the U.S. and its allies are reacting, and whether there's still any hope for a diplomatic resolution. And back on track: after a long and bumpy ride, and decades after defying the odds, Jamaica's beloved bobsled team makes a comeback at the Winter Olympics. Jayme Doll reports.
