And so, it’s time to let the curtains fall and present to you the 2022 Audi RS5 Competition pack. At this very moment, the fully detailed video goes up on YouTube as well so don’t miss that.
First of all, I know that you expected something more. So did I. So I expect lots of storm in the comments. But after I had some time to understand what this car really is, we need to see it from that perspective. It’s not an RS5 Performance, which will come a bit later down the last months of this generation. This is a Competition and Competition Plus packages, that focus on driving dynamics. Audi says they wanted to go ”less is more” on this one and the biggest changes come on inside. This is just a package. Let me list what is unique here.
- The car is 8 kg / 17.6 lbs lighter
- A completely newly developed quattro sport differential. A new data set in the control unit with changed parameters switches the emphasis to the rear- Updated software in the transmission unit
- New optional coilover suspension that lowers the car up to 20mm more than the stock RS5- A new RS sports exhaust system plus, used for the first time, to improve the sound experience- Reduced insulation between engine compartment and the interior - Matte carbon lightweight exterior details- Improved acceleration for the RS5 by 0.1sec and the RS4 Avant by 0.2 sec- Shortened braking distance from 100kmh by 2 meters- Improved top speed is now 290km/h- Dynamic steering ratio fixed at 1:13.1- New 20” competition pack wheels- Dinamica / Pearl kappa interior material that is 45 percent recycled PET fibres
