This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2026 Honda Passport mid-size SUV. The 2026 Honda Passport Trailsport is on display at the LA Auto Show, what do you think of the new rugged design? The wheelbase is 2.75” longer and it has significantly wider tracks, 1.3” in the front and 1.5” in the rear. The Passport has 8.3” of ground clearance which is an inch more than the Pilot. Rear seat legroom has increased by 1.3” and cargo space is also bigger.
The 2026 Honda Passport has the same powertrain as the Pilot, a 3.5L V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This is the first Passport to get the second generation of the Honda torque vectoring AWD system. Honda has added Trail torque logic which optimizes off-road performance with the AWD system. Honda also says, the 10-speed automatic transmission has been tuned specifically for Passport and it comes standard with paddle shifters.
Honda went for an uncluttered interior design with updated technology including a standard 10.2” digital driver display, 12.3” touchscreen with Google built-in and wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It now offers more comfort, space and storage which includes two-tier door bins, a large multi-use tray ahead of the shifter that can accommodate two phones side by side and a big console bin that fits a full-size tablet.
The 2026 Honda Passport will be made in the US in Alabama. Pricing has not been announced yet but it will be arriving at dealerships next year.
