BACKSTORY
The Donda Stem Player launched in August 2021. It is the first major collaboration between Kanye West and Kano Computing, and it was released alongside Kanye's album Donda. The Stem Player allows any user to separate the stems of a song. The stems from Donda are preloaded onto the device, but it also can separate the stems of any songs, according to its website. It also can apply various effects to a given song, such as increasing/decreasing the speed, creating a short loop, and applying signal processing like reverb. In February 2022, Kanye announced that his new album Donda 2 would only be available through the Stem Player.
