The HipShot X-Tender Down-Tuner (not an ad, down-tuners come in different brands) is a simple yet effective gadget that EVERY BASS PLAYER SHOULD HAVE. It allows you to quickly drop tune your E string to any note you want, usually Drop D. It's not too expensive and it's definitely worth the money!
