Critical minerals are essential components in many of today's clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to electric vehicles.

Demand for these minerals has been significant as the push to meet reductions in greenhouse gas emissions accelerates toward 2030 and 2050 targets. Today, China has a dominant position in the value chain for many of the critical minerals, which has resulted in many Western countries choosing to develop or adopt specific critical minerals strategies to ensure access to these valued commodities. Access to lithium, nickel, cobalt, vanadium and rare earth elements has been a key focus for many countries. However, two specific critical minerals, manganese and graphite, are often overlooked.

During this webinar, Fluor Fellow Andrew Curtis, a member of Fluor’s Critical Minerals team, demystifies the role that manganese and graphite play in the battery chemicals and electric vehicle market.
