This is the Flamma FC06 Distortion pedal – an extremely tiny and exceptionally affordable take on the iconic Fulltone OCD overdrive circuit!

Get the Flamma Distortion here:

The Fulltone OCD pedal is a modern-day classic. Since its original release in 2004, it’s found its way on to the boards of thousands of guitar players across the world, who love it for its dynamic response and its versatile range of tones, from transparent clean boost to all-out tube-like filthy overdrive.

There’s plenty of companies that have made their own versions of drive pedals based on the OCD, but the Flamma Distortion is the smallest (it’s smaller than a regular mini pedal!) and cheapest I’ve seen, costing around €30/$40. Despite its tiny size, though, the Distortion packs all the controls you’d expect to see on this type of pedal: Drive, Volume and Tone knobs, and an LP/HP switch (for Low Peak and High Peak modes). LP mode is great for transparent and lower gain tones, while HP mode increases the gain, the low end, the high mids, and the volume.

So, this is a versatile drive that’ll fit on to any pedalboard… but how does it sound? That’s what we find out in this video, as I try the Distortion pedal in as many different musical genres as I can, from pop and blues to indie, classic rock, punk, alternative rock, metal, and more. Using my Fender Telecaster for single coil tones, and my humbucker-equipped Epiphone Les Paul, I also try the pedal into a dirty amp, and at the end I do a couple of loops with the pedal to test the extremes with the settings.

Finally, I have a little bonus loop for you where I run the Flamma up against my Mooer Hustle Drive pedal – which is a well-known OCD clone – to see how similar they sound.

This is the Mooer Hustle Drive:

My setup was as follows: I ran the Flamma straight into my Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 head. That went from the amp’s Red Box DI straight into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, which went into Logic Pro X. That's it. No post-processing on the sounds was done. Oh, and I used my TC Electronic Ditto Looper to play the loops.

Here’s some links to those bits of gear:
