There was one universe that even let me make my own gundam-like mecha anime epic! Unfortunately that universe was already in the process of ending by the time i got my contract.
The story was actually going to be the first entry in a certain-mecha-franchise to star women. But the multiverse is pretty non-linear with that whole "time" thing so "firsts" aren't such a recognizable honor...
The story starred the toe-headed bubbly Gogo Geller and the mysterious Esperanza Applegate. Like any good mecha show, it explored the intersection of politics, maturity, spirituality, technology and human evolution. The show was portrayed through the lens of young women in a world built against them, and the show attracted a lot of controversy for the issues it raised.
Gogo's show was deemed too upsetting for mainstream audiences, and was cancelled before it could finish its whole run. Though it still retained a devoted cult following, the show was called everything from "uncomfortable" to "blasphemous". The outrage only made the show more popular.
