Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter and visual artist who has been a major figure in popular culture for over 60 years. Born Robert Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota in 1941, Dylan emerged from the New York City folk scene in the 1960s with political songs and acoustic guitar. He later transitioned to electric guitar and has written songs in a variety of genres, including rock, blues, gospel, country, and jazz.
