On 8 August 2002, Bruce Springsteen spoke to ITN's Ken Andrew about his latest album, The Rising, and the love he felt from - and for - his European fans. The New Jersey-born singer-songwriter, known affectionately to his fans as The Boss, is set to receive a Fellowship of the Ivors Academy. Widely regarded as one of the highest honours in songwriting, the award will be presented to Springsteen at a ceremony in London on 23 May 2024.
