Latin Grammy nominated & Brazilian Music Awards granted artist, songwriter, composer and musician in his own right, considered to be a principal part of the Brazilian popular music scene revival (MPB), Rogê has released 7 solo albums and 2 collaborations - with samba legend Arlindo Cruz (Na Veia, Warner Music) and with Seu Jorge (Seu Jorge & Rogê, Night Dreamer Records).

Now based in Los Angeles, CA, he released Curyman (Diamond West Records), his debut album in the United States, in 2023. It is a joyous, celebratory samba album, bringing a message of redemption and resistance, of resilience, according to Rogê, “so that we don’t give in to sadness, to laziness, to a lack of desire to move on with life. It’s the certainty that a new day will dawn.” Following in the footsteps of MPB legends such as Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento and the aforementioned Seu Jorge, Rogê makes a soulful and funk-influenced samba style with its highly rhythmic acoustic guitar riffs and his pure-play Carioca voice.

Having honed his skills at the samba club Carioca da Gema in Rio de Janeiro, Rogê brings his acclaimed and infectious samba funk to Fasching for an evening in the life-affirming embrace of Brazilian melancholy. Since its inception in 1977, Fasching has grown to become Scandinavia’s largest organizer of jazz and beyond, well known both in Sweden and internationally.
