In April 1972, the Polaroid company announced its newest innovation: the SX70 instant camera. With the press of a button, the pocket-sized device printed brilliantly-colored photographs that developed in seconds. It appeared to be magic.

Behind the magic was the genius of a man named Edwin Land and an unlikely team of artists and scientists who helped bring his dream of instant photography to fruition.
