I always wanted to do an album version of those “most recognizable song each year” videos, but calling an album “recognizable” doesn’t really make much sense. I ended up going with “Iconic” instead which is much different, many different factors have to be looked at. Sales, charts, streams, critical acclaim and awards (although this isn’t a list of the best albums), how many hits the album had, how famous the album cover is and many, MANY other things have to be taken into consideration which made this list pretty tricky, I think it turned out pretty good though (but of course I’d think that, it’s my list).

Some years that were VERY close and I could see myself changing my mind on soon:
2024 and 2023 - You could really put any popular album from these years, not enough time has passed.
2020 - After Hours by The Weeknd.
2018 - Honestly there were so many choices for this year.
2015 - Purpose by Justin Bieber
2013 - Also so many choices for this one
2010 - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West
2000 - The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem
1999 - Entire top 5 choices for this year are pretty much equally iconic for different reasons
1987 - Bad by Michael Jackson
1985 - Once again, lots of different choices here
1983 - She’s So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
1979 - The Wall by Pink Floyd
1971 - Lots and lots of choices
1970 - Let It Be by The Beatles
