With Transgrancanaria 2025 just a month away—one of the premier races on the World Trail Majors circuit—I put my fitness to the test with one of my signature 4-weeks-out workouts. This is the same workout I’ve used to gauge race readiness before events like the 2018 Georgia Death Race and 2019 TNF San Francisco, and this time, I was hunting a breakthrough.

The challenge? 16 miles. 3,000 feet of climbing. A relentless 8-mile ascent up Hwy 210 to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, followed by a quad-crushing descent back to the base. I’d attempted this route multiple times but never cracked the 2-hour barrier—until now?
