Jesus "Aguaje" Ramos has taken part in the legendary recordings of Buena Vista Social Club (as trombonist,composer, arranger and musical director), Afro-Cuban Allstars and many others. He has also appeared on solo albums by Ibrahim Ferrer, Ruben Gonzales and Omara Portuondo. He was Gonzales' musical director and has toured extensively since 1997 with many Afro-Cuban projects. He was a leading member and musical director of the famous "Adios" tour, which brought Cuban cultural music back to the forefront of the international scene.

Ramos and his Buena Vista Orchestra, including key musicians from the group's history, are continuing the group's illustrious legacy in 2024 with an impressive new stage production and a repertoire drawn from the band's greatest hits (many of which were composed by Ramos).

For this 2024 tour, he is joined by a star-studded line-up including veteran 'Betun' Luis Mariano Valiente Marin (Congas, Bongo), Emilio Senon Morales Ruiz (Keys) and Fabían Garcia (Bass). They will also be performing at the renowned Miami Beach Bandshell in Florida. To date, The Buena Vista Social Club and related projects have had global sales of over fifty million, making it the best-selling Cuban music project in history.
