Beat from scratch on the M+, SH-4d and SP404mk2. It’s so easy to get something g going with this combo so thought d do a quick jam from scratch and see what I can get going in 3 mins!

The M+ handles the drum samples (kick, hats and bass stab), then sequences the SH-4d. The 4 synth voices and additional percussion sounds are all from the Roland. It’s such a cool new synth that really brings the M+ to life. I love the internal Maschine sounds as well, but sound design is not that easy on it in standalone mode, and they can be a little CPU heavy if you use too many. Having the SH-4d paired with it takes all that away, it’s super hands on so can really dial in a sound, and can still use all the M+ sequencing power and lightening workflow.

The SP404 just provides the master effects and acts as the audio interface. All in all a great set up for making beats on the fly!
