The Israeli prime minister has defended the IDF’s attacks on the Syrian Ministry of Defence and an area near the presidential palace in Damascus.The Syrian Interior Ministry’s Nabil al-Khalidi said civilians were injured in the air strikes.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has been ramping up military action against President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s administration, with the Israeli leader saying the attacks were aimed at protecting the Druze community after Syrian government forces were deployed to quell sectarian violence in Sweida.
Hundreds of Druze from the Golan Heights have been crossing the border from the Golan Heights to voice support for the Druze community on the other side.
