Sped-up footage shows a 2016 "lava pour" by scientists in the University at Buffalo's Center for GeoHazards Studies. The researchers have started making their own lava with the goal of studying what happens when molten rock and water meet. The findings could help us better gauge the danger that volcanoes near ice and water pose to surrounding communities.
