Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was rushed to the hospital after falling and breaking her hip during a congressional delegation trip to a World War II battlefield in Luxembourg, according to reports. Pelosi, 84, joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge in the Western European nation — but was injured in the apparent plunge and later “admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” according to her spokesman Ian Krager.
She tripped and fell as she was descending marble stairs at the Grand Ducal Palace, breaking her hip, sources later told The New York Times. CNN also confirmed that she had fallen on the stairs.
