On 25 April 1988, ITN's Colin Baker reported from the Colombia on the power and personalities of the Medellin Cartel, the organised crime ring responsible for 80% of the global cocaine trade. Baker focused his attention of Pablo Escobar, the "chairman" of the Medellin Cartel, whose activities had made him the world's 14th richest man. He reported on Escobar's Medellin fortress (known locally as "the Bunker"), ITN's cameras capturing some rare footage of the ranch in the process. Baker also reported on the cartel's popularity among Medellin's poor, the economy of violence and intimidation used to silence opposition in the Colombian press and public offices, and the government's apparent difficulty in - and fear of - taking on the Medellin Cartel.
