An ongoing theme I've been playing around with in recent months. It starts from deep dub techno, shifts into minimal deep trippy techno, and finishes with classic strains of Detroit deep house. These ideas were inspired by Nick Richards (Nubian Twist) and his work on Polytype Records under his Thirdspace alias.

I picked up all these tracks while manning the counter at Tribe Records in Kirkgate (Leeds).

⏳ How long have you been collecting and mixing for?
I probably made my first mixtape when I was about 13 or 14. I started seriously collecting vinyl when I came to Leeds way back when & got jobs working in the then-thriving record shops. It's all about the pre-internet era.

💡 What sparked your interest in digging/collecting?
I've always been around music & music has always been around me.

🔍 Where do you find your music?
Everywhere!! Usually in brick & mortar shops, more & more online. I tend to splurge when I go to new cities/countries. I’ve got favorite spots in Manchester, Glasgow & London, and obviously, I try to keep an eye on all the Leeds spots. Buying records is becoming more & more of a luxury. I feel lucky to know some great artists who give me their work.

🎶 Any label/artist/collective recommendations for someone to start digging?
Oh gawd!! Where shall I start? Haha. Maybe with the complete works of Otis Jackson Jr. aka Madlib, the whole back catalogue of Total Science and all their aka’s. I’d quite like the ECM catalogue too.

🌟 Is there anyone that you take inspiration from? If so, who and why?
I’ve got some pretty spectacular friends & allies who inspire me all the time. They know who they are & they know that I love them.
