So the challenge by the one and only Midlife Synthesist was: "Here's a couple of samples, do something with them with one sampler, one synth, one drum machine".

It took some deliberation to find out whether the Lemondrop is a sampler or a synth in this context. I made it a granular synth, and loaded other vocal samples in there. The patches are from scratch.

The SP404 did quite some resampling here, I added quite a few effects, and love the pitch and speed controls. Also the new 2.0 update effects and improved time stretching. All lovely and wonderful.

The result ended up reminding me of Moby type sounds, which surprised me because I love his songs, but haven't listened to any of them in quite a while.

I did do some arrangement tweaks in the middle and made the breakdown a bit more breakdown-y - you'll see it in the screen recording 😇
