Learning is never linear! I am at RCM Level 3 heading into Level 4 but this is a Level 2 piece that I always liked and wanted to record. I never could get it satisfactory enough a year ago, but now that I have advanced I am (reasonably) happy with the way I can play it.
Learning ANY instrument is never linear! If you've not mastered a piece at your current level, you don't need to keep hacking at it until it's right. Leave it alone and come back to it later when you've increased your skills overall. You'll find it very rewarding suddenly being able to play those older pieces! 😀
Enjoy the journey! 🎻
The piano accompaniment is from the RCM (Royal Conservatory) audio recording.
