Inelastic Collision Physics Problems In One Dimension - Conservation of Momentum

This physics video tutorial Explains how to solve inelastic collision problems in one dimension using the law of conservation of linear momentum. In an inelastic collision, momentum is conserved but kinetic energy is not conserved. This video explains how to calculate the final speed of two objects sticking together and how to calculate the final speed of a bullet embedded in a wooden block as well as the maximum height attained by the bullet-block system. You need to use the law of conservation of energy to solve the 2nd part of the second problem where kinetic energy is converted to potential energy.
