This is a Motormouth couple car comparison of the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rogue. The Toyota RAV4 is one of the best selling passenger vehicles today. Lets see how the Nissan Rogue stacks up against it. Both have a 2.5L four-cylinder engine. The RAV4 has an eight-speed automatic transmission and the Rogue a CVT. The Toyota offers more horsepower and torque with 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The Rogue has 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Both have FWD and AWD availability. The NissanRogue is 2.1 inches longer than the RAV4 but the Toyota is half an inch wider and taller than the Rogue. They both come standard with LED headlights, a temporary spare tire and 17”-19” wheels depending on trim levels. The Nissan Rogue has a standard panoramic sunroof on the middle trim and a power liftgate on the top trim. Those two features are standard on the XLE trim and above on the Toyota RAV4. If you want the power rear door with a kick sensor on the RAV4, you have to move up to the top trim. The Nissan Rogue offers more interior luxury than the Toyota RAV4. It has a head-up display, a wireless charger, wireless Apple Carplay, a 12.3” digital display and a 9” touchscreen on the top trim, an 8” touchscreen is standard. The RAV4 on the other hand, comes standard with a 7” touchscreen, 8” is the largest touchscreen available on the top two trims along with a 7” information display. Wireless Apple Carplay is not available on the RAV4. The RAV4 comes standard with heated front fabric seats, a 4.2” multi information display, a 7” touchscreen, Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a 6 speaker sound system. An 8” touchscreen, a 7” information display, Softex seats and ventilated front seats are standard on the top two trims. An 11 speaker JBL sound system, heated rear seats, wireless charger and mixed leather and Softex seats are standard on the top Limited trim. A heated leather wrapped steering wheel is standard on the XLE trim and above.The Rogue on the other hand comes standard with a heated, leather wrapped steering wheel, heated cloth front seats, an 8” touchscreen, Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a 6 speaker audio system. Once you move up to the top Platinum trim, you get a head-up display, a wireless charger, a 9” touchscreen, a 12.3” digital dashboard, wireless Apple Carplay, heated rear seats and a 10 speaker Bose sound system.
The Nissan Rogue wins slightly on fuel economy getting 8.3L/100km/29 MPG combined and the RAV 4 8.4L/100km/30 MPG combined.
