As COP29, the UN climate conference, kicks off Monday in the Azerbaijan capital, Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault says the fight against climate change has become an economic issue as countries around the world see huge investments in mitigating the impacts of climate change.

Guilbeault also pointed to the Trudeau government's measures like carbon pricing as an important tool in the fight against climate change and argued that more countries are implementing a price on pollution.

The UN climate change conference runs Nov. 11 to Nov. 22.
