This is a Motormouth couple car review of the new Infiniti QX55 SUV. This compact crossover is what Infiniti calls a coupe, taking the existing QX50 and making a sportier looking design. Even though this new QX55 compact luxury utility has a sportier look, it still offers a lot of headroom, legroom and cargo capacity. This new QX55 SUV has a 2L turbo-charged 4 cylinder engine matched with a CVT and standard AWD with 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The only main competitor with more horsepower goes to the RDX with 272, but same amount of torque. QX55 design is inspired by the Infiniti FX model, which launched in 2003. This QX55 Shares the same platform, interior, powertrain and suspension with the QX50 SUV. Infiniti did not take the opportunity to update the transmission from a CVT to a conventional automatic or the in-dash infotainment system that looks rather dated compared to the current batch of premium compact SUVs. The main competitors to this new QX55 coupe SUV are the Mercedes GLC Coupe, BMW X4 and the Range Rover Evoque.
