Now on the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the Testimony; from evening until morning it was above the tabernacle like the appearance of fire. So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents. Just as God led Israel out of Egypt by means of the pillar of cloud and fire, so now the same pillar would rest on the tabernacle" (Num. 9:15-17).

Just as God led Israel out of Egypt by means of the pillar of cloud and fire, here in Numbers 9 … it was the same “cloud”—the manifested Presence of God—that appeared before Israel, to lead them in their new journey ahead.

When God draws near to us, we must cultivate a response from our hearts that says, "Your face, Lord, I will seek." Every time we respond to God, our desire and hunger for Him will increase.

Let's pursue and draw close to the Pillar of Cloud and Fire ... may the Presence and Voice of God be your guide this year!
