Step back in time with Tony and me as we explore the historic Curtin Village, a remarkable 19th-century ironmaking community frozen in history. Founded in 1810 by Roland Curtin, Sr. (father of Pennsylvania’s Civil War-era governor Andrew Gregg Curtin) and Miles Boggs, this site offers a fascinating glimpse into America’s early industrial age.
Together, we’ll wander through the remains of the Eagle Ironworks, which operated until 1921, and uncover the stories hidden in:
The Iron Master’s Mansion (1830)
A late-19th century Victorian-style dwelling
The towering Eagle Furnace stack (1847)
The ruins of a grist mill
An overgrown canal basin that once bustled with activity

Join us on this journey through history as we uncover the village’s past and walk in the footsteps of those who helped forge America’s growth.
