ESC-HFA 23 – Dr Ross Campbell (University of Glasgow, UK) joins us onsite to discuss the findings of the DAPA-RESIST Trial, which aimed to assess the affect of dapagliflozin as compared to metolazone in heart failure patients with diuretic resistance (NCT04860011).In this phase 3 trial, investigators studied whether SGLT2i led to greater diuresis in this patient group, as to the standard practice use of metolazone in addition to furosemide. 61 patients were enrolled into the study. Findings suggest that both dapagliflozin and metolazone were well-tolerated and effective at treating diuretic resistance in this cohort of patients.
