30 years on from its original release, Goldie shares the story behind ‘Inner City Life’, the first single from his seminal debut album ‘Timeless’.

Written by Goldie, alongside Moving Shadow's Rob Playford, with vocals from Diane Charlemagne, ‘Inner City Life’ is often regarded as one of the most iconic drum & bass tracks ever made, and instrumental in the scene's mainstream breakthrough.

Here, Goldie reflects on his early days with Kemistry & Storm, Randall and Grooverider, whilst also sharing stories of how the track came to be signed, the iconic music video and revealing which remixes and cover version hold a special place in his heart.
