Hexagonest is a remake of the flash game Super Hexagon, which itself is an expansion of the original Hexagon, a game where you dodge obstacles as you spin around in different directions.
The visuals of the level are almost exactly as you would remember them if you played the original, the different color combinations that change between levels, the flashing on beat with the music, the shape and design of the obstacles themselves, only thing you could say is different is the camera angle.
When it comes to difficulty, it follows a similar curve as the original, starting off relatively slow and simple, you can easily read the obstacles that are approaching and I'd you've played this before you could most likely beat the first 2 or 3 levels without dying.
In the original, the first level is Hexagon, then Hexagoner and finally, Hexagonest. The last couple of levels, from 5 to 8 I'd say are definitely a challenge and follow the same scheme, each one going faster than the last, changing the speed of the obstacles and sometimes moving the camera in a different direction. If you're not familiar with the gameplay it will take you a hefty amount of time to memorize each level, often progressing a couple of frames at a time. It's a brutal challenge but it is addicting to beat, such as the original.
