
Stevie Wonder was born on May 13, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan, USA.
He lost his sight shortly after birth, but from childhood he mastered musical instruments and began performing.
Discovered by Ronnie White of The Miracles, he signed a contract with Motown Records and received the pseudonym Little Stevie Wonder.
His early hits include "Fingertips (Part 2)" and "Uptight (Everything's Alright)".
The 1970s were a period of creative flowering with the albums "Talking Book", "Innervisions", "Songs in the Key of Life".
He pioneered the use of synthesizers in soul music, and paid attention to social and racial issues in his work.
Winner of 22 Grammy Awards, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
His most famous songs: "Isn't She Lovely", "Superstition", "I Just Called To Say I Love You", "Sir Duke", "Ebony and Ivory" (with Paul McCartney).
During Russia's war against Ukraine, he recorded a video message in support of Ukraine, emphasizing that "Ukraine is in a battle for the soul of the world."
