mgk went on The New York Times' podcast called "Popcast." During this interview with Jon Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli, mgk shared that he wrote "sweet coraline" after receiving a rude question: 'How did you fumble Megan Fox?'

mgk said, "This girl runs across the street. She said, 'Oh my god. We're over there in the bar like debating if it was you.' They're all freaking out. I look over, they're all in there like *waves hands* And she was like, 'Can I ask you a question? How did you fumble Megan Fox?' I said, 'God damn.' My whole 🚬 cypher was just like *coughs* . As soon as it came out, she's like, *covers his mouth his hand* . I was like that's the question you wanted to ask? And my friends like, 'Do you want to redo?' She's like, 'Yes. I want to redo. Oh my god. I'm sorry. Tickets to My Downfall was a phenomenal album.' A taxi is careening down the street. We went and grabbed her and pulled her out right before she almost got..."

Jon Caramanica said, "Final Destinationed."

mgk said, "I tell Travis [Barker] the story, he's like, 'That's hard. You should write a song about that.'"

And that's how mgk wrote "sweet coraline," which is the 7th track on mgk's new album "lost americana."
