Ранок — це ритуал. Сніданок під М1, свіжа серія "Сімпсонів", і маршрут до школи, де чекаєш друга біля сусіднього будинку. Бо обговорити жарти Гомера — святе.
Жуйка за 10 копійок з розкладки — гидота, але з наліпкою. А якщо випала нова — це майже перемога.
У старших класах з’являються “свої”.
Ті, з ким зависаєш не лише на перервах, а й після уроків. У когось вдома — по черзі граєте на комп’ютері, бо щойно вийшов перший “Сталкер”.
На фізру не хочеться, бо на стадіоні пилюка, ти мрієш про дощ — аби не бігати.
І поки вчитель кричить, у вухах — дешеві навушники, де Скрябін — ще живий, і Вакарчук — ще не бісить.
А потім — останній дзвоник.
Мить, коли багатьох бачиш востаннє. Хоча ще не здогадуєшся про це.
Хтось залишиться на роки. Хтось стане спогадом. А хтось — несподівано долею.
Це був час, коли все ще попереду.

Chewing gum for ten kopecks from a street stand — disgusting, but it came with a sticker. And if it was one you didn’t have yet — that was a real win.
In high school, you found “your people”.
The ones you hung out with not only during breaks but after school. At someone’s house, taking turns on the PC — because the first "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." had just come out.
You didn’t want to go to P.E., because the school stadium was all dust, and you prayed for rain — just to avoid running.
And while the teacher yelled, cheap earphones played Skryabin — still alive, and Vakarchuk — not yet annoying.
Then came the last school bell.
A moment when you saw many people for the last time, though you didn’t know it yet.
Some would stay with you for years. Some would become memories. And some — fate.
It was a time when everything was still ahead.
