In this jam session, I explore how to create an evolving ambient drone soundscape in just a few seconds using the Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø and Korg Monotron Duo. With this approach, you don’t need to dive into the complex features of the Ambient Ø or even use the sequencer—just tweak a preset and let the onboard effects do the magic.

The Monotron Duo is played live, using its cutoff filter to smooth out the attack and release, effectively turning it into a lush pad. This allows for constant variation and natural evolution, creating a deep and immersive ambient atmosphere with minimal effort.

To enhance the final sound, the recording was post-processed in Ableton Live with saturation, EQ, and multiband compression, adding warmth, clarity, and depth to the mix.
