SCP-3001, known as "Red Reality," is an anomalous mental condition that affects a single individual, Dr. ███████. This phenomenon causes the afflicted to experience a progressively immersive alternate reality, referred to as the "Red Reality." In this alternate world, the skies and surroundings are tinged red, and over time, the affected person becomes more detached from our reality, perceiving the Red Reality as real and this world as a mere illusion.
The Red Reality gradually consumes the individual's mind, blurring the line between the real world and the hallucination. Despite their body remaining in our reality, their mind becomes increasingly entrenched in this parallel existence. Attempts to treat or reverse the condition have proven futile, as the subject's perception shifts irreversibly.
This SCP emphasizes the horror of losing control over one’s sense of reality, trapped between two worlds, with no escape from the encroaching dominance of the Red Reality.
