
Practice your 1, 4 and 5 chords of D major!
The chord diagrams show both open-string guitar chords and chords higher up the neck.
The Nashville notation shows the degrees of the chords on the C major scale.
With this track, you can also see how the fourth and fifth complement each other to form an octave. The dominant, the A chord (or A7), is a fifth above the root, as it is the chord on the fifth degree. However, if you go down a fourth from the root of D, you also reach the dominant, the A major chord (or A7). The same applies to the subdominant. A fourth above the root is harmonically the same as a fifth below.
