Miles Ahead is a Naarm-based DJ and curator, firmly rooted in the soulful depths of Deep House while exploring the rich history of dance music. With a sound that traverses Disco, Funk, Soul, Jazz, and Techno, Miles also weaves in vibrant global rhythms like Soca, Zouk, Afro-Disco & more, creating sets that are as eclectic as they are immersive.

A familiar face in Naarm’s vibrant nightlife, Miles Ahead has graced the decks at iconic venues such as Angel Music Bar, Section 8, Whitehart, Ferdydurke, and plenty of others, sharing lineups with respected artists like Marcel Vogel and Giles Smith. Beyond the dance floor, Miles has brought their passion for music to the airwaves, hosting a radio show on Area3000 in 2024 and gearing up for an upcoming show on Mouthfull Radio.

In addition to their work as a DJ, Miles Ahead is one half of promoter Succulent Funk, a project dedicated to bringing together like-minded music lovers and fostering a sense of community through sound. With a keen ear for curation and a commitment to the dance floor, Miles Ahead is a name to watch in the ever-evolving world of electronic music.

As we move further into the digital age, we believe that the future of clubbing is a 50/50 balance of real life and online. With this in mind, we have begun moving Tilt Shift in this direction.

We aim to create a platform that shines a light on Melbourne Locals and international talent. Build an online community while simultaneously putting people in the room as we broadcast.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. As we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur

Since our debut as Tilt Shift in 2017 we have facilitated events at a variety of the city's most reputable late-night haunts like Revolver, Boney, Section 8 & New Guernica. In this time we have hosted & toured artists such as: Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth & Timothy Clerkin
