The webinar will begin with an overview of geotechnical engineering and the challenges associated with expansive soils, emphasizing the necessity for soil stabilization. It will then explore various methodologies, including mechanical and chemical approaches, alongside recent advancements involving recycled materials. An alternative chemical solution for soil stabilization is also introduced.
The investigation will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of enzyme-based soil stabilization methods in construction. This will include an in-depth analysis of the stabilization mechanism and the characteristics of enzyme products. Mechanical properties of the soil will be assessed using UCS and CBR test methods. Furthermore, changes in soil composition due to additives will be examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) testing, and porosity will be studied through 3D profiles generated from X-ray micro-CT tomography of 2D images. The webinar will also cover the impact of elevated temperatures and practical applications of enzymatic soil stabilization in field settings.
Key takeaways from this webinar
The utilization of the enzyme material for soil stabilization.
The workability method of enzyme production in the field.
The enzyme performance at different conditions for stabilization.
