Scott Carlin, a DRG expert, describes the proven process that ensures data accuracy.
The process of companies performing separate audits is ineffective, time consuming, and expensive. That is why DRG has developed a systematic approach to collaborative audits to assist utilities in identifying a final delivery and scope of work that everybody can agree to.
First, we start by working with pole owners to develop a data collection procedures process that all sides can agree upon. This includes a pole ownership determination process that will be utilized in the field.
Field inventory teams then take pole ownership records, from all parties, into the field. This helps to connect the bridge between ownership records and identifying locations where ownership conflicts have occurred.
Indicators in the field (pole tags, brand information, and construction standards) are then used to identify the true pole owner.
DRG collects attachment counts, identifies attachment owners, inspects for safety violations, and completes the data collection process. Producing a complete and final deliverable that meets the needs of all parties, and can be used to update GIS systems.
Since you can rely on the data, you can effectively and efficiently invoice companies with which you have joint-use agreements. By using skilled inventory teams we can also ensure that your poles and attachments are National Electric Safety Code (NESC) compliant.
Our field experts are even able to survey and test for hardware malfunctions that might generate potentially dangerous stray voltage.
