Есть несколько версий этой шикарной, недооценённой композиции, я насчитал минимум четыре, концертная 14-ти минутная, короткая 4-х минутная и ещё две, которые представлены здесь:
1. Why from The Lansdowne Tapes (Limited Edition, Remastered 1994)
2. Why from bonus Demons And Wizards (Japan Remastered 2011)
Bass – Paul Newton (1), Gary Thain (2)
Drums – Ian Clarke (1), Lee Kerslake (2)
Guitar [Guitars] – Mick Box (1&2)
Keyboards – Ken Hensley (1&2)
Vocals – David Byron (1&2)

Why (Uriah Heep): The song was recorded while working on the album “Look At Yourself”. Initially sided with the single "The Wizard" in 1972. Until 1991, it was not published on CDs, and in 1991 it was released on the CD "Rarities From The Bronze Age". In the group this song was called “Why ... 14 minutes” (“Why 14 minutes?”) Due to the fact that in the concert version it had an exceptional duration. Paul Newton says: “Jerry just hated this song, and we liked it so much that we continued to improvise more and more!” The full version of the song has been preserved. The recording quality was not the best. Only five tracks out of eight could be used. The recording itself is a purely studio improvisation. Wonderful Byron vocals. Recorded at the end of 1971
There are several versions of this chic, underrated composition, I counted at least four, a concert 14-minute, a short 4-minute, and two more that are presented here:
1. Why from The Lansdowne Tapes (Limited Edition, Remastered 1994)
2. Why from bonus Demons And Wizards (Japan Remastered 2011)
"Mick Box, Paul Newton and Ken Hensley have been unstinting in their Co-operation, fascinated to hear this material once again."
Enjoy.
