“I still want to go back to school to pursue my dream.” 17-year-old Mariam from Afghanistan was attending 6th grade until COVID-19 school closures. Her education was previously interrupted for four years due to insecurity, long distances to school and cultural and gender norms. A community social workers helped Mariam return to school. At the moment, she is keeping up with her studies by studying and exchanging with her friends. But she is determined to finish her education and help other girls like her to continue their learning. This is her story.
