
There are some simple ways to use music theory to make your metal riffs and music you're writing to sound even more metal.
Have you ever noticed how many metal songs will contain notes that sound that they don't quite fit in that key? But at the same time, they sound awesome, and, well, more metal.
In this example, we take a metal chord (power chord) progression in the key of E minor and we throw in two notes that don't fit in the key of E minor.
We also show you an easy way to use the Circle of Fifths to build your riffs, progressions, and songs so that they have this metal twist to them.
