The American Bully is a recently established companion dog breed, formally recognized in 2004 by the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC), followed by the European Bully Kennel Club (EBKC) in 2008. It attained recognition from the United Kennel Club (UKC) on July 15, 2013. Notably, the breed has yet to receive acknowledgment from the American Kennel Club (AKC). Varied in size, the American Bully is classified into four categories by certain registering organizations: Pocket, Standard, Classic, and XL. Other organizations, including the UKC adheres to a single, consistent size standard.
