The British Phycological Society's Jaz Millar showed off how a species of algae can be transformed into a biodegradable plastic using a spray of calcium. In the future it's hoped that this technology could be used to end our dependance on plastics created from fossil fuels. The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition celebrates the latest cutting edge science from across the UK.
