This week is our 21st installment of an ongoing series called “Grave Mistakes: They Shoulda Been Huge!!!”. We bring you an in-depth exploration of another band that fits into our category of being an “in-betweener”: the amazingly awesome SAIGON KICK! This band straddled the world of the 80s hard n’ heavy and the 90s alternative n’ grunge. Like their touring buddies Extreme, they got a major hit with a ballad in the early 90s and got pigeonholed as a ballad band when they weren’t that at all. We think this band should have been alongside Alice In Chains and STP… They Shoulda Been Huge!!! This episode is rooted in our Should Have Been category. This is a band that we have featured on the show before and exist in a category that we discussed at length back in Episode 133 – The Inbetweeners. They’re from Robert’s home state of Florida, but will our Florida-Man agree with Kevin’s assessment and status of “Shoulda Been Huge”??? Have a listen and find out for yourself.
