Marco Taisch, Professor of Digital Manufacturing at Politecnico di Milano and Co-founder of Miraitek, speaking at the IXON Innovation Day 2024, emphasized the role of data as the fourth production factor for businesses, alongside raw materials, capital, and labor.The convergence between Industrial IoT and data skills is the foundation of future products: smart, connected, sustainable, and customizable. This is possible through service design: organizations do not merely add digital technologies to an existing product but start from services to design machines, plants, and the information system that is the focus of the service.
