Willie Nelson is from Abbott Texas, a town of less than 400 people. After 2 years at Baylor University Willie quit school to play country music. He has been in the music biz since the mid 50's.

In the early 60's he moved to Nashville to become bass player for country legend Ray Price. Some of his greatest songs Crazy, Hello Walls and Funny How Time Slips Away were written during this time period. Willie also worked as a radio DJ around this time.

In the early 70's Willie moved to Austin and became a very popular act to see at the Armadillo World Headquarters. As a matter of fact I also went to see him there a lot. I was in Austin attending Capital City Trade & Tech at the time. The Armadillo was only a few block from my rental apartment.

I could go on and on about Willie but I think most of us know how it has all turned out up to this point. We've all got to see the greatest country music legend to ever sit foot on the planet.
